To help ensure your cats’ good health during their boarding stay we do require that annual vaccinations are up to date and that these vaccinations do not expire whilst boarding with us. Please contact your vet to ensure that this is the case.
If your cat or kitten has just started their vaccination course, we require that they have the 2nd part of the course a minimum of a week before boarding with us to ensure full protective immunity.
We do not require that cats boarding with us are vaccinated for the Feline Leukaemia Virus. This is because the virus is not airborne and, due to the cattery design of full protective glass screens between pens, there is minimal risk of infection from this particular virus. Your vet will be able to advise as to whether your cat would benefit from having the vaccine for protection in daily life away from the cattery. For further information regarding annual vaccinations please click on the ‘Veterinary’ link on the home page and then on the link ‘Vaccinations’.
When checking in your cat for boarding we will ask to see the completed vaccination record card so that we can ensure your cat is up to date with the routine annual vaccinations. Unfortunately, if your cat has not had the required vaccinations, we may not be able accept him/her for boarding and you may lose the full boarding fee.
If you would like any further information regarding any of the vaccinations that we require in our cattery, please do not hesitate to contact us on the above number or pop in to see us for a chat.
